Just three miles from the historic village of Cartmel and within easy reach of Lake Windermere, Horse Spout is perfectly placed for exploring the southern Lake District. Cartmel is renowned for its restaurants, traditional pubs, independent shops, medieval Priory and famous sticky toffee pudding, while Lake Windermere offers scenic cruises, lakeside walks and days out on the water.

Horse Spout enjoys an exceptionally private setting, with gently sloping lawns leading towards the surrounding woodland. Tucked at the edge of the trees, the private hot tub sits within traditional Lakeland dry stone walling, creating a wonderfully secluded place to relax and unwind.

Partial lake views can be enjoyed from two of the super king bedrooms, as well as from the decking and hot tub. The woodland behind the lodge comes alive in spring with carpets of wild garlic and bluebells, while a resident barn owl lives in the woodland opposite. A commissioned painting within the lodge was inspired by the owl, reflecting Horse Spout’s close connection to the wildlife and landscape of Otter Tarn.
